Normally when I go exploring some place we've never been we tend to set aside quite a bit of time in a weekend so that we can have plenty of driving time as well as time to walk around and find as much as we can. The beauty being able to lay eyes on things we've never seen.
So what happens when you have a couple hours of free time on a Tuesday afternoon in Oklahoma? You can stay inside and edit photos or you can take your son and a few cameras and go drive. So we decided to do just that. No plan just get in the car and go find stuff and have fun. You just never know what you're gonna find.
Wasn't able to get a good photo of it because of distance, but in the middle of nowhere in the fields of Oklahoma was a house. Not just any old house, a house built like a castle. My son asked if we could go inside and look around. I had to explain this isn't England or Ireland where they are museums now and that somebody actually lived in there.
Well to some up our little two hour excursion we were able to jump hay bales, chase grasshoppers, drive through mud, walk through an abandoned barn, feed some horses, drive some roads we've never been, and most importantly make some father son memories. Hopefully he'll look back on days like these as I do thankful we have something in common that we can enjoy together.
Here are a some photos I captured on my iPhone using the VSCOCAM app. By far my favorite app.
